Phillip Strang: A Literary Journey
Phillip Strang emerged as an author with a unique background that spans continents and experiences. Born in England during the late 1940s, he was characterized from an early age by an insatiable love of reading. This childhood passion would later blossom into a prolific writing career.
Armed with a degree in electronics engineering, Strang decided in his early twenties to leave his home country and embark on a journey to Sydney, Australia. What began as a move would transform into a decades-long residency, with Australia becoming his adopted home.
However, Strang's life was far from stationary. The intervening years were marked by extensive travel and residence in diverse countries. His experiences were not confined to safe, predictable environments; he spent significant time in regions characterized by political instability and conflict—places that could be described as little more than war zones.
Fifty years after his initial move to Australia, Strang has established himself as a highly successful crime fiction author. His literary portfolio encompasses an impressive 35 novels, with two particularly acclaimed series that have captured readers' imaginations:
- The DCI Isaac Cook Series: A highly successful collection of crime novels featuring Detective Chief Inspector Isaac Cook
- The DI Tremayne Series: An equally accomplished series that has further cemented Strang's reputation in the crime fiction genre
Strang's diverse life experiences and keen observational skills undoubtedly inform the depth and authenticity of his crime fiction, bringing a unique perspective to the genre.
